It claims that it charges in 45 seconds, which is true, but then you only get about 40 seconds of playtime out of it before you have to recharge it. It worked on our carpet (but we have a short, dense carpet- not plush). It was irritating to get the little moudse everytime when my cat was just starting to be interested.
