Victor Rat Trap M200 are made with FSC certified wood. The original wood-based wire snap trap with the metal bait pedal. Place sticky bait (i.d. peanut butter) inside the curl found at the end of the bait pedal. Place the traps perpendicular to the wall, so that the trigger end is towards the wall on a hard surface. The key in trap is to place them in an area with a lot of activity, areas where you see a lot of droppings, urine stains, rub marks, etc. No matter which trap you use make sure you have as many as possible out, making the traps seem like part of the atmosphere will bring lots of good results. One the tricks you could try is to make rodents friendly with these traps, placing unset traps out for about a week with bait on it then setting the trap later will increase your opportunities. Suggestion is not to have it on surfaces that may have machinery that vibrates for this could set off the trap. Also please do becareful when using around children or pest the snap is very strong and could break a finger.

I also use Provoke attractant gel with excellent results though most are caught passing through the trap when it is set perpendicular to a vertical surface. I have trapped at least 30 in less than a month. 1 or 2 of those mice were with a mini-rex trap (I think I have 5 of these traps). The last one only had its leg caught. So I had to put him in a plastic bag and gas him with my truck tailpipe. My mice definitely seem to avoid the trap no matter what it is baited with. I think they are scared of it. I mean the jaws actually look like a mouth with teeth. I guess mice aren't *that* stupid. They are not going to try to steal food from the inside of something's mouth. It definitely looks cool to us, but I am guessing that the ridges look too much like teeth and scare the mice away. I also have a rat zapper ultra, which is mainly good for trap shy mice since it doesn't look like a trap to them. It's difficult to clean without breaking it and it is just much more cumbersome to use than snap traps and maybe only a little bit more humane. So far about 97% of my mice have been caught with the kness snap-e traps.Snap-E Mouse Trap I bought 24 of those and I think I am going to buy more. They are great and quite reusable. and i haven't had a single mice succesfully steal food from one. If they go for the bait they are dead. Period. Eventually the strangulation bars do get bent though. Mccracken I have tried just about everything for the eradication of voles in my yard with little success until I found out about Just One Bite from a neighbor of mine. I live adjacent to farm fields and voles seem to swarm in, finding my yard a great place to live. They burrow into the ground, surfacing later to devour grass and make tunnels around the yard. I have tried poison grain, traps and other bait with little success. But this stuff works wonders! I have found that the best application procedure is to cut a small portion of bait from the chunk supplied from the manufacturer and drop it down the hole; wait a couple of days, then fill in the hole with dirt. If any vole should survive, it will dig its way out and make itself known. I then reapply another dose and repeat the procedure. I suspect the reason some voles survive is because there may be more than one in the hole and the bait may have been eaten by others--or perhaps I may have missed baiting the hole with so many around. Voles seem to love the corn-based composition of this bait, and the poison supplied therein quickly seems to do the job! Smaller packages of this product can be found in farm supply stores. A lot of them were mixed, but I wanted to give it a try (it's always better to avoid traps, if possible). So here are my observations: 1) The sound is audibly annoying for humans (not good). We typically plug it in at night in the kitchen so that we don't hear it in our bedroom. 2) We had it on for a week while on while vacation and it failed to repel a mouse which had found its way though a wool steel sealed hole (which also doesn't work according to my experience - mice may not be able to gnaw it, but are able to pull it apart). 3) So what actually did the job was my second line of defense: a good quality mouse trap. I highly recommend Agri Zap RZU001 Rat Zapper Ultration. I bought it just in case because it kills the mouse by electrocuting it so you don't have to mess with blood or look at the casualty. And, this purchase was well worth the money. So, don't bother with the ultrasonic repellers and spend some time insulating your walls or buy a good trap. I hope this helps. Curtis The Snap E rat traps are not as sensitive as the standard wooden rat traps manufactured by Victor. So a small rat can eat the bait without springing the trap. However, you can re-bait the trap, and generally catch the rat the second time around. And the Snap E traps are SO MUCH EASIER to set than the wooden Victor traps. The wooden traps are really scary. I was delighted. Then I discovered I was unable to set one of the traps because the plastic latch that holds the trap in the set position had worn smooth. Watch out fingers!! The same thing happened to two more traps leaving me with 3 working traps. They're a great idea, much easier and safer to set than the old wooden ones, and they catch rats. Hess We purchased two of these units direct from the company, and after a couple of months of use, we have noticed that not only have they not solved our roach problem, but roaches seem to be drawn to them. We then put 50 roaches in the box, plugged in a unit, ensured it was indeed powered on and watched. We plugged in each unit and repeated the test with the same results. Easy to use, but not super practical By David Edmiston Emerson is quoted as saying, "Build a better mousetrap, and the world will beat a path to your door." If Emerson had been an economist instead of a poet, he might have added an asterisk to the end of that statement and stipulated that this "better mousetrap" must be practical. Stunning the mice with nuggets of gold and a slingshot might be effective, but too expensive to be practical. Killing mice with a-bombs would be extremely effective, but still impractical. So what about the Victor M265 Mouse Trap? Well, it's comparably cheaper than nuggets of gold and far less collateral damage than an a-bomb, but it still has some problems. First you have to ask yourself, "how much do I hate mice?" If your answer is, "about $4 apiece", then you're OK. Next ask yourself, "how green am I?" If your answer is, "who cares--my house is infested with mice!!!", then you're still OK. But if you think $4/mouse is too steep and if you're uncomfortable using this much consumer plastic one time and then throwing it away, then you'll want to consider another option. Having said all that, the Victor M265 is effective and tidy. Stick a little bait inside (my mice like the crust trimmed off their PB&J) and set it out where the mice like to party. Check back tomorrow and you've got yourself a mouse. Toss the whole gizmo in the garbage and don't give it another thought. Hines I purchased four of these mouse traps (2 boxes of 2-packs) because I wanted to avoid the mess of traditional traps and glue strips. Unfortunately, only ONE of the four mouse traps actually worked. One caught a mouse, but the other three act as peanut butter feeding stations for the mice. With each of the three defective traps, the peanut butter I put inside them had been cleaned out (multiple times) and the mice left thank you notes in the traps. I suspect these traps are just designed poorly due to their plastic parts. The plastic lever you push down to arm the trap gives some resistance, but there is a click sound when the lever is pushed all the way down, which should mean the trap is armed. At over $4.50 per mouse trap ($9.60 for the 2-pack box), I expected these two work better. From my experience these work WORSE than the traditional Victor wood and metal mouse traps. I have also ordered the "Victor Professional Electronic Mouse Trap" ($26 here at Amazon.com). Hopefully that will work better. After reviewing all of the Victor product feedback here at Amazon, the reviews are either "this thing is great" or "this thing doesn't work at all" or "this thing worked but died quickly". By Cupcake I've used the no-see-um disposable traps before (DCon and Tomcat). While they seemed wasteful and expensive, they were both quick and effective. This thing, on the other hand, is worse than useless. It's just getting cold here and I live in the country, so mice are starting to venture in for the winter. Typically we see some mouse activity just when it cools off, then set out a bunch of traps, and they're either all killed off or find a more hospitable home for the winter. I've had both traps out for 2 weeks and not a mouse in them. Last night, I saw a mouse on the loose. When I checked my traps, there was mouse poop INSIDE one of them, and a smear of stolen peanut butter on the inside near the door of the other! Great product and customer service By Ike Witt I must disagree with the review that state that the website provides no route to a refund. Though the website states that it is being revised, there is a toll free number listed. I called to inquire about a refund because initially the product wasn't working for me. Though the agent was more than accomodating about providing a refund, she also took the time to ask me how I'd been using the product. As it turns out, I was applying it all wrong. She talked me through how I should use it, and it's been working like a charm ever since. It takes a little bit of time to begin to work, but it was worth the wait. **** I've had a couple of requests to clarify what the correct way of applying the product is, and my apologies for not including that in my original review. I had applied a heavy dose of the Shake-Away on my garden,and was downright furious the following day when I saw rabbits eating away! That was why I had called. The girl instructed me to apply it lightly 2 times a week for 2 weeks, and said that it may take up to 2 weeks for it to start working. Saundby We live in rural Northwest Tennessee and, before we discovered Shakeaway, had endless problems with skunks, ground hogs and opossums burrowing into the crawl space under our 150-year-old house in order to set up housekeeping. One determined Mama opossum even climbed up from the crawl space, made a nest and raised her babies right behind the bathtub. But that wasn't the worst of it. An opossum and a skunk were competing for the same space and got into it right under our bedroom. The racket was unbelievable and to say we went around with our eyes watering would be putting it mildly. We tried everything under the sun to get rid of these pests including hiring a licensed trapper who charged us $100.00 to set up his trap and an additional $25.00 for every animal he caught, (cats and dogs were free). When that got too expensive, we bought our own trap but that got old in a hurry. Finally, when we were literally at our wits end, we discovered Shakeaway via an Internet search and decided to give it a try. We followed the directions exactly and, wonder of wonders, it actually worked! Since these animals are nocturnal, we waited to apply the Shakeaway until after dark, when they would be out foraging for food, and that was all it took. Our pesky intruders decamped immediately and we've been successfully keeping them at bay ever since. So yes, I'll definitely give Shakeaway 5 stars. Gray Bottom line, the chipmunks play in it. They roll around in it like it's the first snowfall. The squirrels simply hop over it. The rabbits don't seem to take any notice of it at all. Nor do any of the deer (in fairness, the deer repellent is supposed to be coyote urine). So, which animals is it supposed to repel? It's unsightly, it stinks, it's really expensive and it does not work. If there is an animal that is actually frightened away from your plants by this stuff, I can assure that animal does not live in Ohio.
